A mountain home for an extended California family, tucked away on remote lake in Northwest Montana. 

Built onto a rock outcropping, overlooking a lake in Northwest Montana. The Home nestles into the surrounding forest, impacting the lake and surroundings in the least. Sahandaywei’s Great Room celebrates space, on those overcast, grey Montana days. The home is totally accessible, featuring an internal elevator accessing the lower floor guest suites. Sahandaywei’s internal volumes and proportions evolved based on classic Fibronacci proportions. The home features a Master Bedroom suite, two ensuite guest bedrooms, Family Room, workout room. two offices and boat room on its’ lowest level.

Bryant Residence

1976 // Edmonton, Alberta

Three bedroom home overlooking a scenic ravine west of Edmonton. Design incorporated affordable cedar shingle siding. Kenneth L Williams M.R.A.I.C. shared design and construction documentation responsibilities with Gary Norbom M.R.A.I.C.

Maison Tres

2000 // Whitefish, MT

A $270,000 four bedroom home in an older Whitefish neighborhood. The home features an interior space which flows throughout the home, providing light spaces during the grey days found in colder seasons. Set into the ground realizes savings in heat, while  naturally cooling in warmer months. Outdoor spaces become more intimate and private as nestled into the ground.

A shared retreat for two close California families. Each family enjoys its own privacy suite with master bedroom and childrens’ bedroom. The design features a shared kitchen/ dining/ living area, along with a lower shared family room with built-in bunks and bath. The garage offers an additional bedroom loft and play area for older children and friends.

Wolfe Residence

2000//Northwest Montana

A mountain home for an Australian Family, tucked away on a remote lake in Northwest Montana

Intended to celebrate Montana with friends who have travelled afar. Bedroom suites are fully featured, and assure privacy for guests. The Great Room featured a ‘Rumsford’ proportioned fireplace fueled by six foot (6′) logs. Clerestory windows from the Upper Floor passage allowed late afternoon  sunlight to illuminate the Great Room. This high mountain residence incorporated clean, modern lines. The deck which faced the lake featured Clear Alaska Cedar. Since demolished.

On Northwest Montana’s Swan Lake, this compact cabin reinforces the western memories and heritage found in a pioneering family. The cabin celebrates traditional cabin open spaces flowing into an upper sleeping loft, a centrally located wood stove and open kitchen. La Rocque

A secluded home for a mid-west retired couple.  Designed along the lines of Fine Home Buildings’ series “The Not So Big House”. The Home sits above a modest stream, celebrating solitude and the surrounding forest.  The interior spaces  provide comfortable spaces, high quality finishes and efficiency of function. An exterior deck is screened, allowing use, during the early Summer’s Canadian National Mosquito squadron annual fly-by. The Master Bedroom suite celebrates views, features a large walk-in closet and welcoming Master Bath suite. The Upper floor affords two guest bedrooms, and storage over the Garage provides for office and fly-tying benches. Affordably constructed by Leverson Conklin Construction
